Angmar vs the Last Alliance. 800 Points in Reconoitter.

Well, it's that time again where spooky Angmar orcs go from door to door asking for elven treats. I've been wanting to really dig into Angmar for a while and andrew obliged by running the Last Alliance list he's been tuning for some time. We rolled for scenario and got Reconnoiter. Over all, that feels like it favors Angmar a bit more, but anything is possible in the great game of MESBG!

600 Point Minas Tirith Tournament Battle Report!

A few days ago I got to play in the 2nd "To War!" escalation event hosted by the inimitable Fredericksburg VA crew. The last time around I ran Rivendell and did quite well! For this round I am only able to make the first game (due to getting married in November! Sorry to my friends who are missing the second round on the same day!) I set out to make a list and, to be totally honest, hemmed and hawed until the last possible second. The list I cam up with did not have me super excited, but to War I go!

Minas Tirith vs The Last Alliance in Lords of Battle at 600 points.

We've been doing quite a bit at 600 lately! It had been a while since I ran my Minas Tirith forces and Andrew was eager to give Gil-Galad and Elendil a shot so... we did just that.

NASHCON Tournament and Roadtrip Part 2 of 3

With my first game out of the way and coming off of a big win, I was off to face Adam- the Titan in the Deep himself- in a game of Destroy the Supplies. Now, Adam (true to his moniker) was running the Watcher in the Water and, if you've read my previous batreps, you know my thoughts on the ugliness that is the unstoppable Watcher  plus bat swarm hero-assassination maneuver, but at least I knew what was coming! Interestingly, Adam allied in Angmar to his list which added a whole new element!

NASHCON Tournament and Road Trip Part 1 of 3

With all sorts of crazy things happening in this season of life, getting to tournaments has been difficult. However, I just so happened to be free for Nashcon and so was Andrew! We decided to make it a weekend, and bring our better halves along. Andrew and I made the drive from Virginia while the ladies would fly down and meet us so we could hang after the tournament. In this series of posts, I'll not only cover my 5 tournament games, but do a little bit of travel blogging for fun.

The Last Alliance vs Lurtz's Hunters. Storm the Camp at 800.

I was fortunate enough to get in a game with a new pal- Adam, whom I met while playing Helm at a local 600 . Since then, Adam has been hanging in our Discord, playing in our league, and generally being an awesome human! I was grateful he made the trek out to my place, and was excited to see what crazy list he brought- Adam is known for Goblin Town locally, so I was mentally preparing for a horde. and... a horde I got! More after the break!

Numenor Spearmen

Finally, the Last Alliance painting is (for the time being) done! No more proxying Gondor spearmen .

The Last Alliance vs Mordor in Assassination. 800 points.

Elendil and Glorfindel's combined forces meet the Witch King's orc host on the field of battle! I was pretty excited to finally try the Last Alliance of Men and Elves on the table. I had hoped to have my Numenor spearmen finished, but my last few weeks have been so crazy I didn't manage to knock them out in time so, their "modern day" Gondorian spearmen are in their stead for this battle report. Apologies for the far-off proxy, it is not common practice on this blog!

Test Numenoreans from Davale

Hot on the heels of finishing up Davale Elendil , I wanted to test out a scheme for some Numenoreans. As I was awaiting a GW order of many spearmen, I printed up 3 more Davale "High Humans" models to test out a Numenorean scheme. I'm quite happy with them, and I can't wait to finish up a full force!

Elendil, High King of Gondor and Arnor

As you well know, dear reader, I am a huge Rivendell fan. We can run just about anything from the list in the collection with few exceptions so... what's the obvious next facet for exploration? Allies. What better way to ally than the Last Alliance of Elves and Men?!

Minas Tirith vs the Last Alliance in Capture and Control. 650.

I was really excited to see Connor's Last Alliance coming together. The last time he and I faced off, it was pure Numenor and it was a heck of a great game ! Connor had since added Elendil to his army, and as I am working on an Elendil model myself, I was so stoked to see him in action.

300 point league game double header!

It's back! Our little friend group is doing an escalation league tournament. With just 5 of us, it's a little odd- but essentially we will each play each other person twice at differing point levels. Starting with 300, then 500, then 650, and finally 800. I was lucky enough to get both of my games in back to back- playing Andrew running Rivendell after facing Connor running Numenor. Here's a brief report on each game!
